Compact expedition in northern Norway – to The Finnmark plateau
Pack the sled, harness your own dog team for three days and join us for a ride to the headquarter Suolovopmi Mountain Lodge for this expedition. The days will be a historical and knowledge-rich journey, with stories about the landscape, the animals and life in the north
Day 1
We pack and get ready with our dog team, the tour starts quietly on safe and good tracks. As we feel more confident about the sledge, the route is put off track in this beautiful wilderness that Finnmarksvidda has to offer. This expedition goes along the western side of the Alta Canyon if the snowconditions are good before we arrived at the mountain lodge at Suolovuopmi after about 30 ++ km. At the lodge, we take care of the dogs before heading into a well-deserved dinner and quiet evening. The kitchen in the mountain lodge serves local fish/meat, vegetables and bakery.

Day 2
First breakfast for dogs and people. We have become safe on the sled, and the day goes by in the characteristic wild landscape. Outside most of the day, over frozen landscapes such as marshes, water and rivers. We return to Suolovuopmi Mountain Lodge for another evening in familiar surroundings and to another delicious and Sami three course dinner.

Day 3
First breakfast for dogs and people. The last day goes back north and towards our kennel near Alta. The dogs you have taken care of have now become good friends and the dogs run like they never did before. You have become a musher in the winter landscape of the north. We drove all day over Beaskáđas, following parts of the historic route for travels between northern Finland and the coast of Finnmark. The tour expedition ends in the kennel and we hope that travelling with furry friends gave you new aspects of life.

- Dogteam adapted to the guest’s skills.
- Winter clothings like scooter boots, polar suit, polar hat, polar mittens, ski goggles and headlamp.
- Safety and emergency equipment.
- Guide who is the owner of the dogs with broaden arctic experience. The guest is part of a safe experience.
